Uitverkocht JODYMOON concert 3 februari
Op hun nieuwe album The Best of Live 2013-2023 staan ook twee opnames die gemaakt zijn tijdens dit concert (www.jodymoon.com)
Het Maastrichtse singer-songwriter duo JODYMOON bestaat dit jaar 15 jaar en dat vieren ze met hun nieuwe album en een gelijknamige tour: Firestone. Voor het eerst sinds lange tijd stond het tweetal 3 februari weer eens in hun woonplaats en voorzagen ze d'n Hiemel van klanken die bij een venue met zo'n naam past. Een staande ovatie viel ze na afloop zeer verdiend ten deel.
Digna Janssen (zang, toetsen) en Johan Smeets (akoestische en elektrische gitaar, percussie, zang, voet) wilde vóór corona al een echte duo-plaat maken, met in de hoofdrol gitaar, toetsen, percussie en zang. Eentje die het live-gevoel weerspiegelt, met als gevolg dat Firestone in zijn geheel op het repertoir stond. Met daarnaast natuurlijk een greep uit de eerdere zes (!) albums die het duo al eerder uitbracht.
Al snel was duidelijk dat het een onvergetelijke avond werd want JODYMOON heeft in de afgelopen vijftien jaar niets ingeboet aan muzikaliteit en creativiteit. Live blijken deze twee ras-muzikanten die hun hart hebben verpand aan eerlijke muziek.

It’s Jodymoon’s 15th anniversary and they celebrate this with a new album and a tour entitled: Firestone. The Maastricht (NL) based singer-songwriter duo has gratefully made use of the extra time in their own studio during corona to record new tracks. BDigna and Johan were already planning to make a real duo record, featuring guitar, piano, percussion and vocals. One that would reflect the live vibe. The result makes it clear that Jodymoon has not lost anything in terms of musicality and creativity in the past 15 years and that we are dealing here with two authentic musicians who have given their hearts to honest music.
Singer and pianist Digna Janssen and multi-instrumentalist Johan Smeets have released 7 studio albums since they won the audience award at the Grote Prijs van Nederland in 2008 with their warm mix of singer-songwriter, folk, pop and roots. They performed in Canada, Spain, England, Germany and Italy, among others. Their albums have all received rave reviews in the Netherlands and have also been released in Germany in recent years.
