PERSBERICHT: Eerste concert woensdagavond 24 juli a.s.
Het programma voor Borrel Noten 2024 is rond. Een dertigtal gratis concerten tussen 24 juli en 18 augustus a.s., van woensdag tot en met zondag (in het weekend ook twee middagconcerten) en… voor elk wat wils. Van jazz tot jiddisch, van singer-songwriter tot soul, van blues tot brassband en van World tot Latin.
De eerste twee weken (semi-)akoestisch intiem op een kleiner podium, de derde en vierde week grotere gezelschappen op een groter podium. De avond-concerten beginnen om 21.00 uur, de middagconcerten op zaterdag en zondag om 15.00 uur.

Eerste week
Een greep uit het programma (het hele programma is bijgevoegd) dat woensdag 24 juli feestelijk wordt geopend door twee jonge singer-songwriters, Mala en Femke Verheyden met haar band, donderdag brengen Maxime x Glyn hun R&B&Soul ten gehore, vrijdag 26 juli is het podium voor de Brassband UrangUtan en in het weekend is er klezmermuziek van La Rosa, wereldmuziek van Cuadro Flamenco en Tango A Quartet en de americana van 10₵ Trinkets sluit zondagavond de 28ste de eerste week van Borrel Noten ’24 af.
Het Festival Borrel Noten werd vanaf 2020 georganiseerd om in de periode tussen de concerten van Andre Rieu (juli) en het Preuvenemint (eind augustus) op te luisteren met een serie kleine en intieme concerten in het oude hart van de stad. Van meet af aan bleek dit initiatief met zo’n 4000 bezoekers per jaar in het Faliezusterpark een schot in de roos.
Eind 2023 dreigde Borrel Noten op te houden te bestaan vanwege een financiële beleidswijziging van de gemeente. Het bestuur van de stichting Roots Unlimited kondigde dit voorjaar aan de organisatie en de programmering van het festival Borrel Noten voor de komende jaren te willen overnemen in samenwerking met café d’n Hiemel.

Borrel Noten ’24 is mogelijk gemaakt door SaHot Maastricht, ’t Preuvenemint, D’n Hiemel, Elizabeth Strouven Fonds, Kanunnik Salden Nieuwenhof, Pop in Limburg, Koekkelkoren Dranken.

Program Borrel Noten 2024 starts wednesday evening July 24th
The program for Borrel Noten 2024 has been completed. About thirty FREE concerts between July 24 and August 18, from Wednesday to Sunday (also two afternoon concerts during the weekend) and... something for everyone. From jazz to Yiddish, from singer-songwriter to soul, from blues to brass band and from World to Latin.
The first two weeks (semi-)acoustic intimate on a smaller stage, the third and fourth week larger companies on a larger stage. The evening concerts start at 9 p.m., the afternoon concerts on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m.

First week
A selection from the program (the entire program is attached) that will be festively opened on Wednesday 24 July by two young singer-songwriters, Mala and Femke Verheyden with her band, on Thursday Maxime x Glyn will perform their R&B&Soul, on Friday 26 July the stage will be for the Brass Band UrangUtan and during the weekend there will be klezmer music from La Rosa, world music from Cuadro Flamenco and Tango A Quartet and the Americana from 10₵ Trinkets will close the first week of Borrel Noten '24 on Sunday evening the 28th.
The Festival Borrel Noten was organized from 2020 to enliven the period between the concerts of Andre Rieu (July) and the Preuvenemint (end of August) with a series of small and intimate concerts in the old heart of the city. From the outset, this initiative proved to be a bull's-eye with around 4,000 visitors per year in the Faliezusterpark.
At the end of 2023, Borrel Noten threatened to cease to exist due to a financial policy change by the municipality. The board of the Roots Unlimited foundation announced this spring that it would like to take over the organization and programming of the Borrel Noten festival for the coming years in collaboration with café d'n Hiemel.
